Hi, I’m Catherine Eyre, the creator of Ocean Eyre! My small business is based in my hometown, Jupiter, Florida.   

The name Ocean Eyre emphasizes the origin of my jewelry pieces and highlights my middle name (pronounced “air”). “Eyre” is an old English family name that is thought to be derived from the Latin, meaning “heir.” Hence, on one of my logos, I designed a mermaid holding a crown to illustrate that she is heir to the ocean!  

The sea has always been a magical place for me. As a little girl I was excited to find new treasures walking along the shore or wading in tide pools.  Weathered shark teeth and shimmering smooth glass were extra special finds.  I have always loved collecting these gems from the sea and started creating hand-wrapped jewelry pieces. All of the seaglass and shark teeth in my collection have been found on the beaches of Jupiter, Florida and the Bahama Islands!
